Landing @ Japan

July 03, 2006 Arrived at Kansai International Airport, Osaka, Japan on early Morning with other JDS Fellows from Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Philippine and Vietnam. This was the first landing at the land of rising sun, Japan. Then we came to JICA Osaka International Center (later called OSIC) by Bus under the guidance of JICA Staffs at about 9:50 am and directly entered into the orientation room with all JDS fellows (total 100 for 6 different universities: 36 for Ritsumeikan, 12 for Kobe, 22 for Hiroshima, 3 for Yamaguchi, 11 for Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific and 16 for Kyushu University) coming from 9 different countries (including 3 Fellows from Uzbekistan who came on July 01, 2006). We had to pass a boring time of about 1 hour 30 minutes at Airport for some troubles regarding their luggages of some JDS Fellows of two countries. It was really a dreary and tedious time passing after a night-long journey! We were too tired for a long journey but faced the orientation program without having any breakfast until 12:00.

No formal session was held at after noon. Faced difficulties in Dining Hall for food, but more shocked for having no convenient way of making phone call to home country. Stayed at JICA Osaka Center, walked around the center to different convenient stores and searched for easiest way of making call to Bangladesh rather than from expensive public phone.
